The Inside Scoop on LIKETOKNOW.it

LIKETOKNOW.it is a social shopping platform. Users can post and tag just about anything you can buy from home goods and plants to stilettos and craft projects for kids.

The platform used to only be web-based but is now integrated through Instagram. What does that mean?? As a shopper, if you've downloaded the LIKETOKNOW.it app and you like a photo on Instagram with that cute little heart button at the bottom (example in the photo below) then go to the LIKETOKNOW.it app - the picture shows up in your feed. At this point you can shop anything that was tagged in the photo just by clicking the item link which will take you to your browser for easy shopping. No more searching the internet for hours typing in every detail you can think of to find that cute sweater!

You can also follow your favorite bloggers and instagram influencers via the app and be kept in the know each time they post something new.

So what's the catch?

As a shopper OR if you're interested in becoming a user, here's what you need to know.

Any time you purchase something via the LIKETOKNOW.it app someone makes money. Each item has a percentage attached to it so if you click the link to purchase an item - that percentage or commission goes to the blogger/influencer. Is it a big percentage? No. As an example, the leopard print sandals in the picture above are priced at $19.99 via Amazon and an approximate commission rate would be about $1. The more expensive the item, the higher the commissionable rate is.

A few other little caveats for those just starting out as users is that you are required to make $100 in commissions before you actually get paid any money and guess what - you'll need to provide all social security information to do so because #taxes. You also need to to actively be adding followers to be able to stay as a user within the first year otherwise your account will be removed.

It's easy to apply. You don't necessarily need to have a ton of followers - you just need to be sharing good, quality content. It used to be very exclusive and people would get denied left and right but now they only need a limited amount of information and most people get accepted and it doesn't take long to hear back - just a week or two. The question is can you stick with it??

Bottom line - if you want to make money - you do have to have followers and active shoppers, and it's important to be consistent.

As a shopper - why NOT support someone's livelihood and shop via the LiketoKnow.it app? Sure, some of these people make TONS of money - but I think it is fantastic that there is a way for people to share things they love with their friends and make money while doing it - we can't let Walmart reap all the benefits - #sharethelove.

Still have questions?? I'm an open book - message me!

XOXO,

Kimberly
