I have two words for you - thanksgiving dishes. Did you cringe a little?

I HATE doing dishes. There is bound to be an abundance of dishes on Thanksgiving so I am a huge fan of keeping things easy where possible.

I'm going to disrupt the traditional and say that I am an advocate of PAPER PLATES! I know, I know - gasps all around. Traditional thanksgiving dinner is china and silver and all the pretty things. Let me give you a little hug and tell you it's all going to be okay. Simplify your life. Take the time to spend with your loved ones - NOT the dishes. The dishes don't love you. But your family does. The time it takes to prepare the meal vs the time to eat the meal is hugely disproportioned.

Ok - I've said my peace. Now let me show you HOW to make it beautiful with all the pretty things PLUS keeping you away from the dishes.

EXHIBIT A:

Would you believe me if I told you the only thing that needed to be washed on this beautiful table was the glasses and white leaf plates on the centerpiece (Okay - the runner and napkins too)?

It's TRUE!

Bringing a mixture of paper, plastic, and glass is magic! It gives tradition feels traditional AND is beautiful but easy clean up makes life after dinner so much better.

Let's break it down (all product links below):

CENTERPIECE

I started with a linen runner and added some magnolia bushes I found at my local Hobby Lobby and a cardboard golden 'Thankful' sign found at the Target dollar section.

I stole some fall foliage from a flower arrangement I have and snuck it in around the sign and used left over Halloween mini pumpkins to fill in the gaps (I'm all about using what you've got too!) I felt like it still needed a little something and the leaf plates (found at Hobby Lobby) along with the paper leafs (a paper banner found at My Minds Eye) were exactly the touch.

PLACE SETTINGS

This is where it gets fun! Gold CARDBOARD chargers, the cutest patterned paper plate from My Minds Eye, plastic dessert plates and orange linen napkins from the craft store, combined with gold plastic utensils and a glass cup! It's perfection! PLUS! If you signed up for my newsletter this month you got that cute little utensil wrapper freebie!

So what do you think? Have I convinced you to make YOUR Thanksgiving table a little more - shall we say - fancy simple??
