Red, White, and Blue Cupcakes with Easy Vanilla Buttercream

There's nothing quite like the combination of red, white, and blue to ignite the spirit of America. And what better way to capture that essence than through the delectable charm of red, white, and blue frosted cupcakes? These delightful treats not only please the taste buds but also serve as a visual representation of a love for our country.

I've made these super simple by using a box cake mix! Pick YOUR favorite flavor and bake up your favorite cupcakes whether it's homemade or from a box.

The frosting is my basic buttercream recipe:

EASY VANILLA BUTTERCREAM FROSTING RECIPE

1/2 cup butter, softened

2 cups powdered sugar

1/2 tsp vanilla

1-2 TBL heavy cream

Pinch of salt

Cream butter. Add in powdered sugar. Once mixed, slowly add in heavy cream, vanilla, and salt. Beat for 3-5 minutes. The frosting should get lighter in color and fluffy.

Be sure to check out THIS post for a few tips and tricks on the perfect buttercream!

Now it's time to color your frosting - of course RED, WHITE, and BLUE!

Place your colors in 3 separate piping bags.

WHAT TIPS TO USE FOR FROSTING CUPCAKES

The tips I used for these cupcakes:

RED: Ateco 866

Holding straight up and applying pressure to the piping bag and then moving up and releasing pressure when desire amount of frosting is applied

WHITE: Wilton 1M

Starting at the center and circling outward

BLUE: Wilton 32

Same method as RED

Of course no cupcake is complete without sprinkles!! I used a combination of sprinkles - but THIS mix from Amazon has it all for a great price!

Now that your red, white, and blue cupcakes are ready, it's time to share them with friends, family, and guests. Whether you're hosting a Fourth of July barbecue, Memorial Day picnic, or any other patriotic gathering, these cupcakes will surely steal the show and ignite the patriotic spirit in everyone who indulges in their delightful flavors.

ENJOY!

XOXO,

Kimberly Marie
