Holiday Style Guide: Dressy Holiday Outfits

I LOVE dressing up and my guess is since you're here - you do too! Holiday looks are some of my absolute favorites but can sometimes be complicated and stressful to put together. Does the occasion call for sequins? A simple dress, statement jewelry, flats or heels?

If you're looking for the perfect dressy holiday fashion - I've searched the internet not only for affordable pieces but looks that range from "wow factor," to dressy holiday photos and looks that can be worn to Sunday church services or brunch.

The highlight of these first two looks - SEQUINS. Sequins are everywhere this holiday season - I've even found sequin joggers! Sequin dresses are of course my favorite for a night at the gala, nutcracker, or concert downtown. If you plan to do any walking I recommend a close toe pump but if you've got valet service then I recommend a strappy heeled sandal as it adds an extra feminine touch. For jewelry, because of the sequins you don't need a necklace but a statement hair clip or even a pair of sparkly earrings would be a beautiful touch to complete the look.

This particular red sequin dress runs small on top so if you are unsure on sizing - size up! It is lined and has a back zipper and features two side slits. The dress is high quality but does not stretch much. I purchased a size medium but swapped for a large because I could not zip the back up.

This cream and silver sequin dress from ASOS is one of my all time favorites. Although it is beautiful as is - I did make a slight adjustment to the neckline as it showed a little too much for my preferences but it is an absolute stunner!

Moving away from sequins to a flirty styled holiday print skirt. I've paired this skirt with a tight turtleneck body suit and a statement necklace but it would be gorgeous with a cashmere look sweater. However, going with the sweater look I would add a belt to show more waistline and contour to the body as the skirt is quite flowy. (Can you spot the little pup?) I am wearing a size medium here but I would have been very happy with a large as well as it is a little snug around the waist line.

Continuing with a similar holiday print but giving it a little edge and adding leather! Leather look skirts and pants can be found this year at places like Target and Walmart and I've even found gorgeous ones on Amazon (hello Prime) that are great quality.

You've heard of the little black dress - well let's make a change to the little RED dress. Pink has been my favorite color for a long time - but RED will always have my heart. I often look at my closet and think - I need more red pieces. It is a color that almost anyone can wear and look stunning - and let me tell you - the right color of lipstick paired with the perfect red - it is chef's kiss perfection! Don't worry - I've got you covered on the lipstick front because I've linked the perfect color for you as well right HERE. Color 299 - More Scarlet.

A few years back I sewed myself a gorgeous red knit dress that I wear all the time. I've done a few instagram stories wearing it and always get comments on the color and questions on where I purchased it so I thought it was time to find you similar one. This dress is it! The color is identical and it is absolute perfection! I know you won't be disappointed with this one. Pair it with tan or black suede boots or dress it up with some leopard print pumps or strappy sandals. Add a statement necklace and/or earrings - I love that there are so many options with this look! Obviously it's the perfect dress to hang a wreath in because that is a completely normal thing to do. Just roll with me on that one.
