Harvest Turkey Snack Mix

We've all seen these pretzel Hershey kiss snacks for every holiday - but have you seen them as TURKEYS?? This is the perfect snack mix to share with friends and extended family for Thanksgiving, that is, if any of it makes it out the door and not into your belly. You can of course make and eat them separately or add them to your favorite trail or snack mix - recipe below - next time I'm thinking Harvest Muddy Buddies.
STEP BY STEP
PRETZEL TURKEY INSTRUCTIONS:
Start out by lining a cookie sheet with parchment or foil and spread the pretzels in a single layer being sure to leave plenty of space between each pretzel because you'll be adding candy corns later (mine were too tight). Top each pretzel with a Hershey kiss or other chocolate - my kids love Rolos too. Pop the tray in an oven preheated to 350° and bake for 7-10 minutes (just until the chocolate is soft).
You'll want your other items at the ready when you pull the sheet from the oven.
I started by placing the candy eyes first, then the mini Reeses nose and finally 3 candy corns. It doesn't matter which side the candy corns are on - I think it's cute with the little feet opposite from the 'feathers' but the candy corns are more stable the other direction. Either way - don't stress on direction - it tastes delicious either way!
Let these little cuties cool and harden before adding them to a snack mix - or enjoy them now!
SNACK MIX INSTRUCTIONS:
Start by pouring your favorite mix of cereals into a large bowl - I love Rice Chex, graham cracker cereal, and Cheerios - really whatever you have on hand. Add additional pretzels, bugles, and any other salty snacks you like - cheese crackers or Fishies are great too. With the total equaling about 4 cups.
In a sauce pot melt 1/2 cup butter and 1/3-1/2 bag marshmallows on medium heat.
Once the butter is fully melted and the marshmallows are puffy turn the heat off and stir.
Keep stirring until smooth.
Pour this mixture over the cereal mix and stir to coat and lay it all out onto wax paper to cool.
Once both snacks have cooled - go ahead and mix or layer them together in a jar, place them in little to go baggies with ribbon and a tag and ENJOY!
