Halloween Waffle Charcuterie
Updated: Sep 20, 2023
No fall waffle charcuterie can be complete without a topping of delightful fruits and syrups and what better fruit than warm apples drizzled in caramel syrup? Why yes, it has my tastebuds singing already!
HOW TO MAKE AN APPLE COMPOTE
These apples are the easiest pancake and waffle topping that gives all the fall feels. Pair the apples with the easiest caramel syrup (recipe below) and you have the perfect fall breakfast - OR dessert!
APPLE TOPPING
2 large apples, peeled and diced
2 TBL butter
2 TBL brown sugar
Melt butter in a pan, add apples and cook 1-2 minutes (you don't want them mushy, just tender). Quickly add brown sugar, stir and remove from heat. Serve immediately with caramel syrup on top of pancakes, waffles OR ice-cream!
EASY CARAMEL SYRUP RECIPE
1 cup Karo syrup
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup heavy cream
Warm all ingredients in a pot on low heat. DO NOT BOIL. Boiling will make the sugar crystallize. Just warm until the sugar dissolves.
ENJOY!
