Back To School Photo Ideas

Forced school photo time! They'll appreciate it one day - I hope.
Today I'm sharing samples of my favorite photos I've taken throughout the years.
A few things I've learned:
1. You don't need to go anywhere or hire a professional. Throwing a cute banner behind them on a wall inside your home or even in front of your garage can really spruce up the look of a photo.
2. Adding props that describe them. We LOVE looking back on these photos because it jogs their memory of all the things they loved and did that year. One year, my son held a trumpet because he was starting lessons and was so excited. Another year - one boy was really into airplanes and the other cowboy stuff (chalk art photos were super popular at the time) so we took to the sidewalks.
4. Don't overcomplicate it. Some of my favorite photos are ones where the background is simple. Remember, it's about the person in the photo and they should be the highlight.
Here's a few links to my favorite banners for back to school photos. I made the apple wall from paper plates and green construction paper and taped them up with painters tape (it makes a great backdrop for a fun dessert table for a back to school night dinner - which you can read all about HERE).
