4th of July Outfits
Do you ever scroll through social media and look for outfit ideas for different occasions? Maybe you even have a board or file with all your ideas? SAAAAME. I often look back on these ideas and try to recreate them with things I have at home - not always successfully - but it's worth it so I don't get sucked into buying all the things.
However, I do love shopping and when I find amazing deals I feel obligated to share! So of course I've included shopping links in this post because if you're like me you also like a refresh and update from time to time (these links are super affordable with fast shipping too - hello Amazon Prime - you have my heart!)
Most of the outfits I'm sharing today are pieces that can be worn any time of the year. I love leaning into the holiday with themed outfits specific to it - but a good classic piece of clothing is always worth the investment (whatever that price point is for you - for me, I like good quality but not a high price - I guess that's most of us, right?).
THE CLASSIC Add in a blue necklace or earrings and you've got the perfect red, white, and blue patriotic outfit. I LOVE these pants! High waisted, classic white pants. The ones I am wearing are from Express but I've posted some other options that are similar. The Express pants run small, so size up! I am wearing an 8 Long. I chose a long length because I knew I'd mostly be wearing them with heels and I love the length it gives me in my legs. However, if you plan to wear them with sandals or flat shoes - grab the regular length. The top is one of my Amazon favorites. I wore it to Disney and got so many compliments. It is short in length so I highly recommend wearing high waisted pants (see what I did there). I'm wearing a Medium.
THE FANCY - CASUAL
I laugh at myself every time I pose like this. Why? Random tidbit - in high school I took modeling lessons and we called this stance "the grunge pose". It's the only one I remember. Another red top, I know. I like to have a few in my arsenal. This one is actually a bodysuit and I am completely smitten with it. The perfect shade of red - which is hard to find. And the pants - high waisted WITH a bow? Yes, please! Both are from Amazon. This is the kind of outfit I wear on repeat because it's perfect for day to day mom life but is also dressy enough to wear out for a girls night out or date night (it's because of the bow - yup - I'm obsessed). I'm wearing a size Medium in the top and pants.
THE T-SHIRT MAMA
I know - Rolling Stones started in the UK but the affect they had on American Rock Culture is immeasurable and their icon is, well, iconic. I have a few of these tee's that I rotate through this time of year. Wearing a simple t-shirt with jeans, or even shorts over your swimmies is a fantastic look for the heat that is inevitable this time of year. Now let's talk shoes. Shoes can take your outfit next level. My son offered his red Jordans for this pic - but since his feet are quite a bit larger than mine (I'd look like a clown) I opted for classic red converse. I had a pair of red sandals last summer that I loved - but they broke (insert tears) - I'm in the market for some cute Tori Burches - but the price point on those babies is not friendly on the budget. I sized up in the shirt to a Large because I wanted it to be oversized so I could tie it on the side.
THE DRESSY - CASUAL.
Well, well, well, look at this cutie laughing at herself taking a selfie - guys - I'm not good at it which is why most of my photos are in front of a mirror - less awkward. Plus I've got something in my hands with those photos - I never know what to do with my hands. Cue - pinwheels and pockets - now I'm a pro. Another bodysuit for this top! Also - overall dress? Need I say more about this one? It's a keeper. Dresses are some of my favorites! Dress it up, dress it down, get some air up in there if ya know what I mean. I'm wearing a size Medium i both the dress and shirt.
I could go on and on! I LOVE holiday outfits - but for now - these will suffice. I hope this helps you find the perfect outfit for all your 4th of July festivities! Looking put together doesn't have to be expensive and you certainly don't need to go buy yourself new clothes for every occasion (unless you want to). Take a look at what you've got in your closet and run with these ideas! And if you want a little shopping therapy - links are above!
Love and Sweaty Hugs;
